Day off!

...I plan to do those pesky things that need to be done. Like balancing the check book (ick), cleaning the bathroom, and vacuuming the rugs.

Update on family mentioned yesterday...

...the mom came in today and was pretty nice. I told her the girl was acting up last night and she said she was testing to see if she(the girl) was mature enough to stay in the library with the older boys. I found out she is only 5 (!) and the kids are all younger than I thought. 8, 10, and 13.

Whew!

Back to the library...

...today we have a family here who live within walking distance. The mom left with the youngest who I had spoken to a few times while the mom was on the computer. The only thing is she leaves the 4 other kids in the care of the 13 year old. Okay, this is technically legal but I am keeping a very strict eye on them because the youngest (maybe 6 or 7?) is having trouble keeping quiet. They are all playing computer games now so they are quiet. The others are 9, 11, 12, and 13 I think. They asked me when we closed so I think they will be here until 9, it's going to be a long night. I am the only staff here, I have my fingers crossed.

Musing about second marriages...

a co-worker just got married again and she is extremely happy. Cool that she could find her soul-mate. I know so many working on their second marriage or just got divorced. Must be the age thing. Once the kids are out of the house - why stay if you are not happy? Luckily, so far so good with my dh.

I Library thing, do you?

I have been a member of libarything since 2006 so I decide to add a widget to my blog. I add books when I think about it and have about 90 books in my library. I mostly use it for my own personal memory but occationally when a patron asks me what I have read recently I use it for them.

Tried out Flickr today...

...it is pretty cool! I searched on the town my father grew up in Artrip, Virginia - population 20 or so - and found a pic of a swinging bridge that I have photos of myself. I have walked over that bridge and it was interesting to see that it has been condemned.

I think libraries can use Flickr for genealogy. Maybe we can search on names and find photos of our ancestors.
